Wedding Design Trends
Trends are constantly evolving and what that means is “everything old is new again.”
2021 is going to continue to see smaller, intimate, more interesting venues rather than traditional big ballrooms. Weddings will go back to their heart which is making treasured memories with family and friends. Designing an experience for all senses such as placing emphasis on interactive food or cocktail stations, lots of different textures to feel from velvet table runners to pampas grass aisle decorations, highlighting amazing entertainment and a curated menu.
Strong trend is going to be towards creating memorable immersive moments with floral installation. Couples will focus their budget on the larger statement designs such as guests sitting under a canopy of hanging flowers for ceremony, creating a woodland walkway, to name a few.
Trends to watch for:
Celebrations are going to be personal and intimate. Special elements of sentimental value are going to be important to enhance the table decor with pieces that hold a special meaning to the bride/couple such as using heirloom China, flatware, stemware, antique candelabras.
Mixing of furniture at the ceremony (i.e. benches, sofas, ottomans and chairs).
Antique doors, gates, arch ways and entry ways for bride’s entry down the aisle.
Different styles of chairs at the reception.
Pampas grass in pastels like lilacs, peaches, pinks.
Couples want to spend quality time with their families and guests. No head table as that tends to separate the family from guests.
Coordinated outfits for the couple.
Sustainability is going to be top priority.
Brides are going to devote enough time to do full on glam shoot on their wedding day.
Hair accessories adorned with sparkles or pearls will continue to be popular. Chandelier earrings and statement necklaces are going to make a come back.
Immersive ambiance, mood setting fairy lights are going to be indispensable elements of celebrations along with Illuminated caves or creating curtains from fairy lights.
Tented weddings either in parents backyard or park like setting.
Boho trend will make a come back but with a modern twist.
Big emphasis is going to be placed on curated experience for family and guests.
Couples are going to place emphasis on moments not things.
