An Homage to All Moms
“ To the world, you are a mother, to our family, you are the world”.
It is so nice that we set aside a special day to celebrate the women who raise us. Here are a few suggestions from us to make this day extra special.
Madiha’s Idea 1: Digital Photo Album
The gift of time is always nice to gift to Mom. Since not many people are developing photos from traditional cameras, it is a sweet gesture to organize all the photos from the computer or phone. This could be something fun to include the family and have everyone contribute their own photos to the album and have a viewing party on Mother’s Day. Madiha’s Idea 2: Spa Day
It is a thoughtful gesture to let Mom take a break and treat herself to a relaxing day at the spa which she so well deserves. Check out Burke Williams with locations all over Southern California and beyond.
Madiha’s Idea 3: Beach Day Picnic
What better way to get the family involved in planning a menu and organize a beach side picnic. Our family likes to bring board games, sports equipment, full spread including yummy desserts and let’s not forget our tea! Some of our favorite beaches to visit are in Malibu and Laguna Beach.
Madiha’s Idea 4: Live Performance/Concert
Nikki and I both enjoy live music and whether it is a concert at a venue or having a musician come to your home to play during dinner, this would be a memorable evening.
Madiha’s Idea 5: Weekend Getaway
Surprise Mom by booking rooms or a Villa in one of her favorite spots. We always feel relaxed at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Coast. It is a great way to spend quality time with the family. Look up activities to do or places to visit or simply make a brunch or dinner reservation at a local restaurant.
Madiha’s Idea 6: Gardening
Nikki and I both enjoy gardening. It is fun to put some great music, get your hands dirty and plant something together and when you see your la or of love grow into a tree, that will remind you of the time spent together.
Madiha’s Idea 7: Fresh Flowers
Who doesn’t like flowers… enough said! If you love Jeff Leatham (like we do), a great idea is the florals meet fragrance collaboration “Jeff Leatham by KKW Fragrance!”
Madiha’s Idea 8: Sleep
In Madiha’s case, she is a mom of two young boys and good old fashion quiet time and sleep is priceless!
Nikki’s Idea 1: Diptyque Paris Candles
The fragrance of these candles is pure luxury. Favorites are Jasmin and Magnolia.
Nikki’s Idea 2: Homemade Scrub
You cannot go wrong with a home made scrub to recharge and refresh your skin. This recipe has been in the family for years and never fails to work:
2 Tbsp yogurt
2 Tbsp chick pea flour
1 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1 Tbsp turmeric
Mix all the ingredients well and apply it on face. Leave on for twenty minutes and wash off with cool water.
Nikki’s Idea 3: Jewelry
I am a sucker for jewelry so bring it on!
Nikki’s Idea 3: Robe
A luxurious robe in silk or cashmere will do the trick.
Nikki’s Idea 4: Language App subscription
Since I am obsessed with French, getting a live coach online and practicing the language is the way to go!
Nikki’s Idea 5: Obviously all the things that are favorites of Madiha are my favorites too!
