Beverly Hills Hotel Indian Wedding Ceremony (Part 4 of 5)

Wednesday, August 27th, 2014

The final two events for Jasmin and Arshad were held at the Beverly Hills Hotel.  Jasmin had envisioned her ceremony to be very elegant in white complimenting the surroundings of the Crystal Garden.  The hotel was able to accommodate our request to have the Baraat in the main driveway.  Amidst all the pomp and circumstance, our baraat gathered on Sunset Blvd and the groom arrived on a horse accompanied by drums and dancers on the main driveway of the hotel.

It was wonderful to see the driveway open to the hotel guests within the half hour period as the procession and rituals ended within that period.

As soon as the groom disembarked from the horse, mother of the bride did ” arti ” which is protection from evil eye.

The Rodeo room had been booked to receive the groom’s procession as well as where some rituals were performed and couple had their first look.

Guests then descended the grand stair case to go out to the garden for ceremony.  Because the majority of the guests had come from the Philippines, the bride had requested to hire a blonde model to project California vibe to apply red dots on each guest. The model looked beautiful in her Indian outfit that was provided by the bride.  This small detail created quite a wow factor.

At the foot of stairs our guests were served beverages including Indian lassi and were escorted by Exquisite Events staff to the ceremony site.  Outside in the garden it was an ethereal oasis of elegance.  The shade structure was draped on custom wrought iron poles that were wrapped with greenery.

The mandap was stunning with pearls as a back drop.  Mandap furniture was classic and elegant and ceremony set up was bespoke luxury.

Our bride was a vision as she walked down the aisle in her custom Ankur Batra outfit.

The ceremony was meaningful, touching and emotional and as couple exchanged their vows some of the guests were teary eyed.

The ceremony ended on a high note with guests cheering for the couple.  The couple was showered with lots of hugs, kisses and it was apparent how much they were loved.  After taking photos with close friends and family, they exited the space.

Destination Las Vegas Part 2: Ceremony

Wednesday, May 28th, 2014

Hi Everyone, This week I am sharing the pictures of the ceremony that we did on the Golf Course Lawn at the Wynn Hotel.  There is a gorgeous waterfall on the golf course that we used as our backdrop so we knew we wanted to keep the mandap open for the view.  We used oranges and fuschias since I thought that would look really pretty against the pristine green lawn and clear blue skies that Vegas has in the early summer months.

We also figured that since it was early May and typically, in our and the hotel’s experience, Vegas does not start heating up to uncomfortable temps until mid-to-late May, we would not need any shade over the guests…we were wrong.

The week prior, the weather was projected to be great, in the 80s. I looked again the week of the wedding and it said 100 for the ceremony day!!  The rental companies were quoting an astronomical amount for shading and said they would not be able to get the colors in time. Now what? The next best solution would be to find parasols for the guests so we called Pier 1 and Cost Plus who both combined had about 5 parasols-we needed 100. On a whim, I asked the hotel if there was a Chinatown in Vegas. In my 25+ years of going to Vegas, I had no idea that in fact there was a quite large Chinatown located right off the strip! We took a 10 min cab ride crossing our fingers in hopes to find the coveted umbrellas and after about an hour of going shop to shop, we finally came across a vendor who was able to collect 50 parasols in our colors and 50 hand fans- SUCCESS! If you are a planner, you know that you have to come up with a Plan B, C and D sometimes and that is what is so challenging and exciting about doing what we do!

Marvelous Mandaps

Tuesday, January 24th, 2012

Designing a mandap is an artform all it’s own. The mandap is the focal point and sacred four-pillared structure of the wedding ceremony, where the exchanging of wedding vows takes place surrounded by family and the sacred fire. The mandap is symbolic and represents the four Vedas and the four goals of a fulfilled life, which are Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha. Each pillar of the mandap represents the support and strength of each parent of the bride and groom. The day before the wedding ceremony, an important ritual known as Mandap Mahurat or Mandap Ropan is held to bless the mandap.

We put great care and thought into the design of our mandaps, working closely with our clients to ensure everything is absolutely perfect. We hope you enjoy these examples of beautiful mandaps!
