Rami and Dima, Four Seasons Westlake Part Two

Wednesday, April 16th, 2014

After the ceremony ended, guests were escorted through the hotel lobby to the foyer.  The first sight was a round table dressed in custom gold linen with multiple beautiful bird cages with live doves drooping with flowers.

The couple had expressed the desire to have a dove release after the ceremony but since ceremony was going to end at sunset and birds cannot be released due to fear of losing their way back, Nikki decided to bring the live birds and make them blend with decor.  There were birds in cages spread throughout the cocktail area, some perched on pedestals, some on credenzas and some on the bars adding to the ambiance.

Two plasma screens showed guests their seating assignment.

A large mirror with the hand painted invite was placed strategically across from the entrance round table with the eye-catching birdcages.

Because the clients were very specific about not using hotel furniture at all, all the furniture was removed.  In the center of the foyer was a large square mirror bar with the couple’s monogram.  The entire pre-function space was decorated with furniture vignettes for one hundred guests.

Our involved groom wanted the color palette to be black, red, and gold therefore Revelry provided furniture vignettes in the three aforementioned colors.  Custom plexiglass cocktail tables with hanging chandeliers graced the space along with a few highboys in custom gold linens.

RAMI_0129

There were 12 food stations including sushi, tapas, seafood, a Mediterranean station, Chinese stations, as well as tray passed hors devours.  A stringed trio played beautiful music and guests were treated to a lovely ambiance with decor, lighting and music.

RAMI_0149

The groom was also very adamant that as soon as the ballroom doors opened and after the couple’s grand entrance, all the rented furniture was to be removed immediately.  This was to eliminate seating and bar for guests’ use outside the ballroom, to keep the party inside. The groom’s theory proved to be true, as the guests happily remained inside the ballroom for the remainder of the evening.

Ariana and Amardeep’s Engagement Party

Tuesday, May 29th, 2012

Ariana and Amardeep’s modern engagement party at Pandora on Green was spectacular in white, black and red! Upon entering Pandora, guests were greeted by a lovely floral arrangement by Shirvan Design of natural wood, lush red florals, candles and a beautiful photo of Ariana and Amardeep. Gorgeous black chandeliers hung from the white exposed beams in Pandora’s expansive space.

Beautiful floral arrangements and candles sat atop long, mirrored tables and the chairs were fitted with modern white and black chair covers. Some walls were covered in a lovely white fabric to create a more cozy feeling and we left some beautiful brick exposed. Revelry Event Designers brought along their oversized, silver ornate mirrors to prop against the walls and a lounge area with white Revelry sofas, cushions and mirrored tables was created so guests would have a beautiful  and comfortable place to socialize.

A guitarist from Rossi Music played Middle Eastern music while delicious tray-passed Mediterranean hors d’oeuvre and desserts were enjoyed by Ariana and Amardeep’s guests. Thank you Duke Photography for these lovely images!

The Grand Del Mar Wedding Experience 2012

Tuesday, April 10th, 2012

We had such a wonderful and relaxing weekend at the beautiful Grand Del Mar in San Diego. The carnival-themed party was so entertaining and the ballroom was completely transformed. We were spoiled with games, special treats and the company of good friends.

We also got an opportunity to visit the beautiful San Diego Zoo Safari Park where we were able to observe some interesting and exotic animals. We also experienced a lovely and delicious dinner at the Addison. Thank you Grand Del Mar and everyone who made this weekend so great!

Sanjay’s 40th Birthday Party at The Montage

Tuesday, March 13th, 2012

exquisite events designs a 40th birthday party at the montage

Mona and Sanjay are the most beautiful couple! We coordinated their wedding a few years ago at the Ritz Carlton Dana Point on a perfect day with the ocean as their backdrop. They now have an adorable baby boy and as Sanjay’s 40th birthday was approaching, Mona asked us to help her plan an amazing party to celebrate the occasion.

After visiting many venues, Mona settled on the Montage in Beverly Hills and we came up with several ideas to keep the evening filled with fun and entertainment. We decided to create a step-and-repeat wall on the red carpet for photographs as guests entered the cocktail area, in addition to a photo booth and cigar roller. Guests enjoyed amazing tray-passed appetizers and even a specialty white drink called the Marilyn Monroe.

Following the cocktail hour, guests were escorted to the conservatory into a beautiful black and white room decorated with furniture and mirrors hung over the existing paintings. The twinkling city lights of L.A. could be seen in the background as guests mingled around the room and sampled small-plate concept cuisine from various food stations inside the conservatory.

Guests were then escorted into the main ballroom, decorated by Revelry Event Designers, in cream and gold. The white furniture, custom mirrored bars and tables were very Marilyn Monroe. They even draped the balconies in beautiful gold fabric! Our vision for the room was perfect elegance and that’s exactly how it felt. All the guests watched as Sanjay cut the cake while Marilyn Monroe came out to sing to him. Everyone sampled an amazing array of yummy desserts, drank beautiful cocktails and danced to the harmonious sounds mixed by Ajay of Special Occasions until very late. The party was a huge success.

Rajnit and Jay’s Anniversary Party

Monday, March 5th, 2012

Rajnit and Jay wanted to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary in an intimate setting with their family and close friends.  Their anniversary was December 30th, and after visiting many venues, they finally chose the Montage Beverly Hills.  Rajnit and Jay loved the idea of having their guests first come for the reception, followed by an after party later that night. The Montage proved to be the perfect location! Scarpetta, the hotel’s fine dining restaurant, created by award-winning Chef Scott Conant, was an excellent spot for the after party.  Throughout the various meetings with vendors and the hotel, Raj and Jay were very involved in the planning process, which always makes it fun.

Because Rajnit spent many years in Hong Kong and is very well versed in Asian cuisine, she made some wonderful choices for the menu.  The idea was to offer guests small plates throughout the night, with stations from different countries.  The color palette of black, white and silver was suggested by Nikki and a very modern feel for the ballroom was envisioned.  Nikki brought in the talented team of Revelry Event Designers to create the decor and the room looked absolutely fabulous with white draping, tied with black tie backs and black valances.  The entire room had black carpeting and set up started on Thursday for a Saturday event.  A lounge look and feel was designed for the whole ballroom with a few tables flanked around the dance floor.  A raised bar with amazing panels was placed on one end of the room and the lighting was truly magical.

A plethora of candles and white flowers created a cutting edge mood and vibe was very modern.  Guests were greeted by a professional MC on the live red carpet runner and had photos taken with the couple in front of step-and-repeat wall.  As soon as the doors opened, champagne girls wearing silver costumes and head gear welcomed the guests.  Rajnit and Jay’s three children recited a touching and funny poem in honor of their parents and guests danced until midnight in the ballroom. After the reception, guests moved for the after party to Scarpetta; which lasted till 3:00 am.  It was a beautiful and memorable evening and will remain etched in memories for a long time.

Dolce and Gabbana Men’s Fall 2013 Collection

Saturday, January 21st, 2012

Dolce and Gabbana‘s Winter 2013 men’s collection seems to have a touch of Indian inspiration in it; from the gold embroidery in beautifully tailored jackets of various cuts, right down to floor with gaiters worn over pointed and rounded-toe shoes. It seems they haven’t only drawn from India for inspiration, but also England, and of course, being Dolce and Gabbana, Italy too. Looking closely at the embroidery, you’ll see a Baroque inspiration and the pinstripes, herringbone and velvet feel very English. The colors for this strong collection are perfect for fall: grey, bordeaux, dark green and camel. (Also a beautiful color palette for a wedding!)
