First Annual Luxe Hotel Wedding Event

Wednesday, March 26th, 2014

This was such an exciting planning process! Getting to know Renee Strauss was an inspiration. We also loved being fully taken care of by the Luxe Hotel each time we went there for meeting!

Renee Strauss used to be a retail queen for high-end wedding gown designers. She left the retail business and became the wedding ambassador for Luxe Hotels all over the world. This was her first high-end wedding event with Luxe. She approached us to be part of the host committee, which entailed collaborate design of the event, influence in social media, getting to know the layout of the property, and communication with hotel staff.

Planning and designing consisted of developing a concept for our 15 x 27 foot space. We decided on an ombre color scheme of radiant orchid pink, the color of the year. Our phenomenal table linens and chair covers were done by Wildflower Linens.

We  really wanted to do something different than the typical floral centerpiece, so we created a tress atop square tables and hung flowers from top and bottom. Eddie from Tic-Tock flowers did an outstanding job. It was whimsical, but sophisticated. The zigzag effect of  the tables gave it a multi-dimensional look.

Diann Valentine, a co-host and very creative and edgy designer, recently did a wedding at the St. Regis with a hanging cake structure, so we wanted to incorporate that cake and that created a very big WOW factor.

On the sweetheart table, which was an Exquisite Events design, we used silver from the Exquisite Events line. This included jewelry boxes as favors, large silver bowls for the floral center pieces, and lovely silver chargers.

The backdrop was also unique. Instead of the typical drapery, we wanted to do something a little different to cover up the back wall. We had panels in pinks light to dark accompanying tables of the opposite shade.

Guests loved our space! We were so happy to hear comments all night with so much positive feedback.

Another highlight of the night was the Sareh Nouri fashion show. The detail on her gowns is extraordinary – the French lace, the roughing, and the embellishments were gorgeous. Her line had old world charm and a Grace Kelly feel.

About 300 brides and grooms-to-be were in attendance, and everyone enjoyed the fabulous hors devours, desserts, and open bar.

The night was a great success, and we are looking forward to future events with Renee and Luxe Hotels.
Have an Exquisite day, and see you next Wednesday!

Morocco meets India Henna Party

Wednesday, February 27th, 2013

Its always fun to create Henna and Sangeet  parties because there are so many colors and  themes you can do. For this party we used  traditional Indian colors of yellow and red and  brought in a few tents and low wooden  furniture and lanterns to give the Moroccan  feel. The tents were made to look like bazaars  and the guests were able to go inside to  discover a plethora of fruit, arabic tea served  and henna artists ready to design beautiful  patterns on the ladies hands.

Deep from Nirvana recently catered our 4th annual FAM showcase at the Montage Beverly Hills Hotel and the food was incredible! The Indian seafood buffet included a fresh ceviche bar where ingredients were mixed together for guests; fresh and on the spot. The event was hosted at the 9th floor Conservatory and Grill, which has some of the most sensational views in all of LA! Following the beautiful and tasty buffet, guests enjoyed a liquid nitrogen dessert station that was absolutely divine! Stay tuned to the Exquisite blog for details about the gorgeous jewelry featured at the FAM event by Beaudry Beverly Hills.

FAM Event at the Montage Beverly Hills

exquisite events fam 2012 at montage beverly hills

On October 7, we held our 4th annual showcase, and this year it was at the Montage Beverly Hills Hotel. The partnership with George Nickels and Exquisite Events was flawless and after a few visits to the hotel to design the event, we decided to host it at the 9th floor Conservatory and Grill, which has some of the most sensational views in all of LA!

We began the evening at the exclusive 10lb, a scotch bar that houses some of the rarest and finest scotch on display anywhere in the world. The guests were able to enjoy a delicious tasting of three types of scotch, accompanied by an acoustic guitar and violinist.

Following the tasting, the hotel escorted guests to the 9th floor, where the rest of the evening ensued. Once the elevator doors opened at the 9th floor, the two spaces, the Conservatory and Grill, were completely transformed. We wanted both spaces to have a different look; so the Conservatory, which is the indoor space, was inspired by 1920s Paris with a soft color palette of blush and gold with flowers complementing those tones. The balcony of the conservatory had french bistro tables painted in rose gold along with cocktail tables and stunning old world linens in soft pink and gold damask. Guests were able to relax and enjoy the panoramic views of the LA skyline!

Luckily, we were able to get into the room the day before to set up and do a light check. However, the Grill was another story! It is normally a restaurant everyday from 7 am-3 pm, which meant that we could not set up there until around 3:30 pm! Our party started at 6:00, which meant we had a little over two hours to get the existing hotel furniture out and move in our design elements; which included a stage for the band, lighting, furniture, tables, and more! The color palette for the grill was aqua, turquoise and silver with beautiful linens and chair covers that looked like gowns from the period. The flowers were in tangerine, green and ivory and really brought the space to life.

Since the Montage wanted to showcase an Indian caterer, Deep from Nirvana, had a great selection of heavy appetizers, while Executive Chef Gabriel from the hotel did a spectacular ceviche station with a gorgeous display! There was also a liquid nitrogen dessert station with some of the yummiest cheesecake I have ever had. We will be featuring an entire blog, coming soon, on the food at FAM, so be sure to check back soon!

Essence Entertainment played beautiful music and kept the guests entertained throughout the evening. The fun part of the evening for me was being able to model jewelry from the Couture Jeweler, Beaudry of Beverly Hills, who partnered with us and showcased some of the most exquisite pieces I have seen! We’ll also be featuring more jewelry in another blog post coming soon. It was a very fun and elegant evening!

A Bordeaux Dinner Party

Friday, October 28th, 2011

A few weeks ago when i was approached by a client to plan and design a table for a seated meal for some of her close friends, I was beyond excited.  This client has become a dear friend and I truly enjoy working with her.  We decided on Bordeaux and black with silver accents.  After narrowing down on linens, I set out to design my table top.  We paired the table with black chair dressed in Bordeaux pad cover and matching napkins.

The table was flanked with black candelabras in varying sizes and tons of silver leafed candles withsilver mercury glass candle holders bearing Bordeaux candles.  The table was set with silver leafed charger bearing the menu.  Each place setting had a deep burgundy rose that was refllexed.  Client wanted a seated meal with wine pairing and lively conversation.  A few days before the event we decided to cover tha backyard with clear canopy to provide maximum comfort for the guests.  In addition, a beautiful bar and lounge vignette was created for cocktails.  Upon guests arrival they were greeted by valet wearing the same colors as the decor.  Once they entered the house, they were welcomed by waiters carrying chilled champagne flutes.  Beautiful and relaxing lounge music was playing that the client had pain stamp fly organized.   The long table with 22 seats was set to the nines and with the candles burning on top  a thick runner of deep burgundy rose petals as well as clients heirloom pure silver glasses carrying black magic roses created a magical effect.  After enjoying cocktails and butler passed hors drivers, guests were escorted to the table.  After the host welcomed the guests, first course was brought out.

With each course, a carefully selected wine was served.  Guests dined for more than three hours over a five course meal.  Each course was enthusiastically received and from the joyful laughter and chit chat, they seemed to have a great time.  The hosts enjoyed the company immensely and appeared to be really enjoying themselves.

Hope you enjoy and excuse my unprofessional camera shots!

An Afternoon Tea at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel

Tuesday, June 21st, 2011

Recently we had the pleasure of hosting an afternoon tea and fashion show at the gorgeous Beverly Wilshire Hotel. We partnered with some of our favorite and most talented people in the event industry to create something truly unique and memorable.

The afternoon began on the stunning Rodeo Terrace which, as the name suggest, overlooks the famous Rodeo Drive and is the perfect space for a cocktail party or ceremony. We wanted to create 4 separate tents that evoked a different feel and Revelry Event Designers created some of the most gorgeous mandaps and tents we have ever seen coupled with their custom made furniture that would make you want to shop in their warehouse. We created a faux ceremony area and the mandap was a plexiglass structure dripping in stunning flowers designed by the talented Eddie Zarastian of Tic Tock Couture Flowers-something people have never seen!

Youngsong Martin of Wildflower Linen amazed everyone with her signature fashion show in which she transforms her linen into beautiful haute-couture cocktail dresses and ball gowns. As guests enjoyed their cocktails and delicious hors deourves, the lovely models would mingle through the crowd draped in Young’s fashions-Incredible!

Following cocktail hour, we moved down to the Grand Trionon Room for the formal tea. Upon entering the room, guests were welcomed by a beautiful, lush archway of flowers including roses, hydrangea, peonies, and plum branches (to name a few) where they then were seated at any of the amazing vignettes of furniture created by Revelry. While tea and finger sandwiches were served, the Regional Vice President and General Manager of the Beverly Wilshire, Mr. Radha Arora, greeted and welcomed the guests and then introduced Nikki who thanked all of her guests and sponsors involved in creating such a spectacular event.
