Madiha at Hummingbird Nest Ranch

Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

Youngsong Martin of Wildflower Linens  and I came up with the idea of doing a photo shoot that was slightly different.  Our concept and story began with the idea of the hostess that is throwing a dinner for her close friends and realizes at the eleventh hour that she does not have a gown to wear; hence her gown becomes part of her table linen.  I wanted to use my china and silverware for this shoot and Sunny of White Lilac, Youngsong of Wildflower Linen and I created a table scape with Madiha of Exquisite Events as the model.

An Afternoon Tea at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel

Tuesday, June 21st, 2011

Recently we had the pleasure of hosting an afternoon tea and fashion show at the gorgeous Beverly Wilshire Hotel. We partnered with some of our favorite and most talented people in the event industry to create something truly unique and memorable.

The afternoon began on the stunning Rodeo Terrace which, as the name suggest, overlooks the famous Rodeo Drive and is the perfect space for a cocktail party or ceremony. We wanted to create 4 separate tents that evoked a different feel and Revelry Event Designers created some of the most gorgeous mandaps and tents we have ever seen coupled with their custom made furniture that would make you want to shop in their warehouse. We created a faux ceremony area and the mandap was a plexiglass structure dripping in stunning flowers designed by the talented Eddie Zarastian of Tic Tock Couture Flowers-something people have never seen!

Lakme Fashion Week 2011

Monday, March 21st, 2011

Lakme Fashion Week, held in Mumbai, India, showcased some of the best talent the country has to offer. The Summer/Resort 2011 show kicked off on March 10th and featured such designers as Preeti S Kapoor, Manish Malhotra, Gauri & Nainika, and one of our favorites, Satya Paul.

Satya Paul is known for his beautiful signature prints with vibrant colors that are both elegant and playful. The theme for Paul’s show this year was “The Jewels of the Sea” and as you will see, it was appropriately named. Using such rich fabrics as georgette, crepe, chiffon, and organza, these designs were quite reminiscent of elements of the sea whether it be the shades of blue Paul used, the ruffles representing waves of the ocean, or the subtelty of the embroidered flora and fauna of the ocean.

Manish Malhotra

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

Manish Malhotra is one of the most successful fashion designers in India. He started out designing for popular Bollywood movies and gained recognition through the beautiful actresses he would dress.

We love the fact that he experiments with colors and fabrics using organzas, chiffons, velvets and lots of bead work. Not only are the women’s looks amazing, but the men’s designs are quite gorgeous as well! This is Malhotra’s Spring/Summer 2011 Collection.

Fashion and Color

Monday, February 14th, 2011

Hi Everyone!

We have loved watching MB Fashion Week 2011 so far and these are the trends that we are seeing so far in colors. We get a lot of our inspiration for colors from fashion, and spring seems to be bringing us corals, jewel tones, mustard yellow, and periwinkle blue. Can’t wait to translate these colors into beautiful palettes for our weddings!

Enjoy!
